OAP Philip Meekings Jailed for Historic Child Abuse

Who is Phillip Meekings?

OAP Philip Meekings, who was arrested on the 29th of December for historic child abuse, has been jailed for six years with one year on extended license.

The 72-year-old was charged with three counts of sexual assault; a partner agency contacted Cleveland Police on behalf of the victim-survivor, who was under 13 at the time of Philip Meeking’s abuse. 

Philip Meekings, ex-military and former security officer, appeared at Teesside Crown Court on Wednesday 27th of March where he pleaded guilty to his heinous crimes of historic child abuse. 

Philip Meekings, who up until his arrest was his wife’s full-time carer, has no previous convictions and was described by his barrister as having an “exemplary military record.”

His victim-survivor recounted the psychological and emotional trauma she had experienced in her victim impact statement, describing Philip Meekings’ abuse as a “never-ending cycle of emotional distress.”
