Will I have to meet my abuser for sexual abuse compensation? 

No, you will never have to meet your abuser.  It is likely that any sexual abuse claim will be dealt with by our lawyers and the insurance company. 

Will there be a cost to me if I lose?

How long will the sexual abuse claim last? 

Cases of this nature vary in their complexity and the time it takes to track down and receive vital records. However we believe that most sexual abuse cases can be settled in a timescale of between 12-18 months.

How much sexual abuse compensation can I receive?

Once again it is difficult to give an exact figure for sexual abuse compensation due to the fact that every case is different; however the courts and lawyers work on certain brackets of compensation and it is difficult to assess what bracket a survivor would fit into until we know the facts of the case. Previously we have seen awards of between £20,000.00 and £100,000.00 for psychiatric damage.  You can then claim damages for loss of earnings or potential earnings and various medical treatments. Once we have taken on your case we would be able to advise you better on the likely level of damages.

What if the person who abused me is an individual?

We will undergo some searches to see whether they have any money or assets that can be seized.  If this is not possible then we may be able to assist you with a criminal injuries compensation authority scheme claim (CICA claim). Your lawyer can advise you more about this. 

What if the person who abused me has died?

Yes you can still potentially bring a sexual abuse claim.
