Child Sex Offender Ben Murphy Jailed for 6 Years

Ben Murphy, 31, of Raite Green in Kent town, has been jailed for six years following 16 offences involving children between 2018 and 2024. 

Ben Murphy approached children in a park in Sittingbourne and online. He asked his online victims to send indecent images of themselves, some in underwear and some carrying out sexual acts. 

Murphy also sent images of a sexual nature of himself to his victims and would request phone calls to his vulnerable victims to further engage in sexual abuse. 

He offered to pay £1,000 to one of his young victims in exchange for them abusing their young relative and sending photos of the abuse to the predator.

Ben Murphy was sentenced to six years imprisonment at Maidstone Crown Court in August. In addition to his jail time, Murphy will have to sign the sex offenders register and will be subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for the rest of his life.
