Mr Y is a survivor of sexual abuse who reported the abuse to the Police and the abuser was convicted.

Our client initially made a CICA claim himself but then decided to instruct ourselves to deal with the matter given that we were more sensitive to the situation.

The CICA confirmed an award would be made to our client. However, we felt that the award should be in the higher bracket and reviewed the decision. Our review was successful and our client received the appropriate level of award for his abuse.
