Catholic Priest Paedophile Dennis Finbow Found Guilty of Child Sex Abuse

A Peterborough Catholic priest, Dennis Finbow, has been found guilty of sexually abusing a girl aged between 10 and 13 in the 1980s.

74-year-old Catholic priest paedophile Dennis Finbow dismissed the three counts of indecent assault charges against him as “nonsense” and “fabrication.”

At his trial at Huntingdon Crown Court, the jury had heard that Dennis Finbow, who the female complainant described as “charismatic”, had touched the girl while she was in bed. In her impact statement read out during his sentencing, he was further described as a “larger than life” character who had a “secret life” as a paedophile.

Dennis Finbow, of Martlesham, near Ipswich, was sentenced to jail for six and a half years. During his sentencing, Judge Grey called his crimes “the clearest abuse of trust” and told Finbow: “Your actions… have caused significant lifelong psychological harm.”

Speaking about the case, The Diocese of East Anglia said that the Catholic priest paedophile was retired and had not been active in the church since 2001. The Bishop of East Anglia commented that he would be “seeking urgent legal advice” to rid Dennis Finbow’s clerical status and rights.

Dennis Finbow will remain on the Sex Offenders’ Register for life.
