Victim of Paedophile Teacher Rebecca Joynes Said He Was Coerced and Controlled

In July 2024, paedophile teacher Rebecca Joynes who groomed two teenage boys was sentenced to six and a half years in prison.

While on bail for having sexual activity with a boy, known as Boy A, Joynes engaged in sexual activity with another boy, Boy B, and fell pregnant.

Now, Boy B has said in his impact statement that he understands the “full extent of the abuse carried out on me” and was “coerced and controlled” when Joynes groomed him.

Now, Boy B has said he has found it difficult to find support as a young male victim of grooming and sexual abuse, and that he feels had the victim been female and the perpetrator male, the crime would have been dealt with differently and more support would have been available.

Boy B went on to say “Ultimately, I will forever be Rebecca’s victim and forever linked to her through our child.”

Rebecca Joynes and Boy B’s child was born in early 2024, however the baby was taken from her within 24 hours. Joynes now has limited contact with the child; Boy B said: “The most innocent victim is our child, and I’ve come to realise how important my role is in ensuring they are supported by love. I understand the difficulty and impact this will have on my child.”
